We Here at freelanacer Community Would like to thank all of you that have decided to advertise with us.
while there is still alot of work to be done and Complete Website rebuilds in our future. i promise you that as long as you want us to be here we will be online and here for you.
we are starting to see traffic and membership grow and our members have turned out to be a group that are not afraid to compliment one another or share links and reccomend each others work.
the more people that advertise here and link back to us the more chances players have of finding a variety of servers to choose from.
Posted in our Forums we have several choices now for connecting to a server since the global server has gone down. and the more we help each other the more we help the Community as a whole.
Freelancer Community now shows in the Top 5 google results while searching Freelancer and Community ,, not bad for a site only 2 months or so old.
We at [RIP] look forward to advertising more and more servers in the future and with your help,, in time the rest of the community will learn that this Site is a place where everyone can share ideas and information in a friendly Non biased atmosphere.
Thank you all once again for taking the time to let us serve you and the Community.

If you need complete hosting for both your main site and your forums, feel free to contact me
(I wanted to do this for TLR, but since they simply ignored and rejected my offer, I think other, friendlier people may want to take advantage of it)

We actually Have a dedcated machine in texas and no doubt will relocate the DB if this venture is a success. the main site is hosted on our machine right now .
the forums i went with a provider to start because it was faster setting up... but i have access to the DB so i guess we will see how things go with the community.
but thank you for your offer

UPDATE
in the Next week or so i will purchase a copy of the Database for this site from free forums..
reason ??
I have setup PHP to run on our teams dedicated machine in texas.. once i have the site looking the way i like i will insert the Database ,, redirect the URL and turn this forum Off..
What does this mean to our Members ??
Nothing at all
WWW.FreelancerCommunity.net will still get you to the new site and We will not lose any user acct information or posts and should experience ZERO Downtime..for the switch
the only real change will be i am going to setup the forum using the same theme but instead of using the HTML site i created to get us going here i will setup the new Forum as a portal site... it will carry all the Mod adverts,,links and news that the current front page does only it will be better..
So dont think of this as a Move its more of an upgrade..

Another Heads up
We plan on moving the database tonight to a larger partition. As a result our site will not be available for about 2 hours sometime tonight.

Another Heads up
We are Updating our Hosting...
Our dedicated server is migratin' down the road to Dallas DB. This is part of a big network reconfiguration by our host, Layered Technologies, and the short explanation for it is... better support service (if that's possible, these guys rock) by locating the server to their 'nock' er 'knock' er 'nok' (the tech seemed excited about that nok part). This will improve the overall connection to our server, as we exit the lossy and busy Savvis Data Center.
the bottom line is about a 10% reduction in latency from all the points we tested, this time with no packet loss. everyone Should see a better ping on all of our game servers..
The physical move is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22nd from 2:00am EDT to 4:00am EDT.
While our UV and FLC websites are hosted on another machine Both Sites have elements hosted on our Main DRH Server and we could see some loading issues with both sites during the move.
This also means a new server IP and The DNS server will have to be updated , might be a day slower in catching up. We can't update the DNS until they move it and assign us a new IP range.
Oh yeah, we're getting a 1Gb memory upgrade at the same time! The DRH will then be running 4Gb RAM! Heheheee...
we are Sorry for any inconvenience!
