I have been pulling my hair out trying to find information on what can be done with the intro animations and cutscenes (the thn files).

I have managed to work out most of the basics to do with adding models, doing path animations, setting up lighting and camera and so on - but I cannot find any way to add captions or subtitles.

I have read all of the avaialble THN editing tutorials available from the Starport and other places, but no joy.

Does anyone here know where to look?

Thanks

OK - the only practical way to do this is to use sign 'models' and textures for the text.

Would still like a detailed spec of the THN scripting engine though,,,,

Wish I could help but, I don't know anything about it. Good to know you're working on your mod again.

Starting off with a weapons overhaul, to better suit the FL game engine, and to make it 'look' better. I am also hoping that I can better balance everything so that decent PvP play also becomes possible, as well as PvE combat being more satisfying.
I am studying some of the PvP leaning mods (like 88 Flak) to try to learn how to get it good.

Also in this iteration of development, I am tidying up things like planetscapes so they show ships from the mod in the traffic buzzing back and forth, rather than the vanilla FL ships, and a bit of eye-candy for the intro screens, again, just to make it more of my own mod, rather than the vanilla FL intros.

Variety is always good and Freelancer makes that possible.
