The future of our fun is in question because we want more people. After seeing so much hard work put into it by the talented computer members, maybe we need to consider a brain storming session in marketing the game. Our talented members can't do everything but I know some of the rest of us are self employed & we know a bit about advertising & marketing.

Some people we met in each game in D3, after chatting, became friends & we moved from game to game in D3 for years. Enter other mods & games of FL ... “Word of Mouthâ€Â

Great ideas! New emails were sent out yesterday. As for lessening the 'beatings' that new clans take, that is the whole concept behind the UnderVerse. Hopefully it won't be much longer. But don't confuse this Freelancer Community site with the UnderVerse site (which has not gone public yet) Look on our boards for the url or pm me and I will get it to you.

M$ just doesn't really realize what their missing out on with Freelancer is all I can say. If they were to take a good look at what all has been done to it lately by all out here, and jumped back into this project on their end, they could produce something that would top the gaming charts in my opinion.

Freelancer is the Bomb and everyone knows it. The ones that don't, well...they're just lost in life is all.

I agree, I'm surprised MS still hasn't realized how big a success FL has become. Heck, shutting down Lancer's Reactor and the GLS shows you how ignorant they are.

Considering there's NEVER gonna be a FL 2, I guess they could at least put it back on the shelves, or make a special edition of it. I'd hate to see FL die because of MS' ignorance. :(

Well, I really don't think Freelancer will actually die with all the mod creations being done with it but, they're going to run out of ideas soon enough. There's only so much one can do with it without all the proper hard-coding to make it much better than what's already being done. There's some awesome work out there and these guys have outdone themselves for the most part but, without the much needed MS hard-codes, it'll one day come to a standstill.

Idk, I'm not a modder and all I can try to do is offer new ideas whether I get credit for them or not, makes no difference to me. At least I'll know where the idea came from and that's all that matters to me. I'm very creative but, I only wish I could do it with mods. Every time I go into mine I screw something up and trash it. Good thing I have copies.

I wonder if "Jumpgate Evolutions" will bring more player to freelancer as a kind of spinoff or rob the FL community of players ?

Never know rasauul, I know many Freelancers that are wanting to try it out already so, that means many are going to check it out. They may or, may not return to Freelancer until their pockets get thin.

If JG turns out to be anything like EVE Online, they'll have to charge for it to keep the people they have working for them happy and services going 24/7. That, unlike Freelancer where players/modders/devs create their mods in their spare time, JG will be a 24/7 process in order to keep it updated while it's still running online.

If it comes with a free trial, I may check it out for that time but I won't pay to stay. I enjoy exploring Freelancer too much and all the diferent mods for it.

I also played D3 before, but now, I spare a part of time to play gw2, it seems that you told the truth.

That link, goldgw2, leads you straight to the forum where you need to pull out a credit card, just like every frkn game out today. Gaming is turning into a money scam anymore. Gimme, gimme, gimme. Funny thing is, you can go to Wal-Mart or anywhere and buy a boxed version of EVE Online and yet, even though it cost, as much as, most any other game on the market, it only comes with a 3 month subscription. It's all P2P after that.

They're also making them so you can't really get anywhere without buying all their extra items. Making it hard on those that can't afford them and easier for those that can. The ones that can buy them are, 'Wallet Warriors' and the ones that can't are 'Welfare Players'. Then, it's all brag about how they pay for you to play there.

The first time a non-supporting player makes any kind of suggestion for the game or, any complaint, it's the WW's that first start ragging you and telling you to L2P.

The one thing I can honestly say about Star Trek Online is, you can't just whip out a credit card and buy what you want to, you have to achieve a certain lvl first. You have to earn it, whether you have money or, not. Most everything in the game, you can get without a credit card too and that's another good thing. They even run, Specials Give-Aways, if you take the time to work for them.

I know it takes a lot of programmers and the like to keep things up-to-date but, when you start reading about all the extravaganza's they're having, to me, it's all a waste of money, even on the promotional side of it all.

Monthly updates are crap too, in my book. Just about the time I get the hang of a new update, there's another one with dozens of changes added to it or, things removed from it. I'd rather wait a year for an update than have to deal with changes every stinking month. Let me play the damned game for a while, first.

Oh yeah, that reminds me. It's been a year Dwn, is it ready yet? :D
