That link,
goldgw2, leads you straight to the forum where you need to pull out a credit card, just like every frkn game out today. Gaming is turning into a money scam anymore. Gimme, gimme, gimme. Funny thing is, you can go to Wal-Mart or anywhere and buy a boxed version of EVE Online and yet, even though it cost, as much as, most any other game on the market, it only comes with a 3 month subscription. It's all P2P after that.
They're also making them so you can't really get anywhere without buying all their extra items. Making it hard on those that can't afford them and easier for those that can. The ones that can buy them are,
'Wallet Warriors' and the ones that can't are
'Welfare Players'. Then, it's all brag about how they pay for you to play there.
The first time a non-supporting player makes any kind of suggestion for the game or, any complaint, it's the
WW's that first start ragging you and telling you to L2P.
The one thing I can honestly say about
Star Trek Online is, you can't just whip out a credit card and buy what you want to, you have to achieve a certain lvl first. You have to earn it, whether you have money or, not. Most everything in the game, you can get without a credit card too and that's another good thing. They even run,
Specials Give-Aways, if you take the time to work for them.
I know it takes a lot of programmers and the like to keep things up-to-date but, when you start reading about all the extravaganza's they're having, to me, it's all a waste of money, even on the promotional side of it all.
Monthly updates are crap too, in my book. Just about the time I get the hang of a new update, there's another one with dozens of changes added to it or, things removed from it. I'd rather wait a year for an update than have to deal with changes every stinking month. Let me play the damned game for a while, first.
Oh yeah, that reminds me. It's been a year
Dwn, is it ready yet?
